WSET Diploma, Certified Sommelier, Certified Specialist of Wine

Jessie Newton, DipWSET, is a freelance writer and wine professional. Currently living in Florida, Jessie previously spent eight years selling wine on the distributor and supplier side of the wine industry in New York City. In her role, she worked with some of the top restaurants and shops. She currently works as a regional field marketing manager for a wine supplier in Florida.

Jessie specializes in wine but also has experience in food, travel, parenting, and business. When she’s not studying or drinking wine, she enjoys reading and exploring her Tampa with her husband and baby girl.

Jessie discovered her love of wine while waiting tables in New York City after high school. She has since pursued experience in numerous positions in the wine industry: distribution, retail, and worked in the vineyard and cellar at a small winery in the south of France. Her extensive background makes her a well-rounded educator.

Jessie holds the Diploma in Wines from the Wine & Spirits Education Trust and is a Certified Sommelier through the Court of Master Sommeliers. She also has a Bachelors in Food and Resource Economics and a Masters in Entrepreneurship from the University of Florida.
